Lahinch Golf Club
Lahinch Golf Club in Co. Clare is home to two fantastic golf courses. The Old Course is currently ranked as the No.4 golf course in Ireland and was voted the 35th best golf course in the world according to golf.com in a recent poll. Lahinch has had a rich history since its foundation in 1892. In 1895 Lahinch began the South of Ireland Championship which is an amateur championship played by the top amateur golfers in the world. Since the first tournament in 1895, the championship has continued to be played at Lahinch golf club to this day with some notable previous winners a Joe Carr in 1969, Darren Clarke in 1989, Paul McGinley in 1991, and Graeme McDowell in 2000. Originally designed by Old Tom Morris in 1893, Alister MacKenzie was put in charge of a course renovation in 1927 which was followed by Martin Hawtree's 2003 restoration. So the course has changed over the years to suit the modern game as it has evolved.

The finest natural course I have ever seen.
Old Tom Morris
Lahinch will make the finest and most popular golf course that I, or I believe anyone else, ever constructed.
Dr. Alister MacKenzie
Some of my fondest memories of great golfing holes in the world include the number four and five holes at Lahinch.
