Ardglass Golf Club
Ardglass in Co. Down is a natural links on the north east coast of Ireland. Due to the heavy exposure to the volatile Irish Sea the course almost always plays with a high wind making shot and club selection extremely tricky, the postage stamp greens only make this task all the harder. The Irish Sea is visible from all 18 holes and is directly in play on at least 8 of those, so to say this course hugs the coastline would be a fair assessment. Founded in 1896 as a 7 hole layout the course grew into an 18 hole layout by the late 1960's and has gone through further changes since then to give you the stunningly beautiful championship course that is there today. The clubhouse is the oldest building used as a golf clubhouse in the world and it is truly a perfect setting for a clubhouse. Originally a fortified warehouse for 15th-century importers and exporters it is one of the more interesting clubhouses I have ever been in.

Ardglass is a hidden gem in Northern Ireland, right on the water. A very welcoming golf club that makes you feel like a member on arrival.
