The hosting of the 148th Open Championship at Royal Portrush in 2019 was a massive coup, not just for Northern Ireland but the entire island of Ireland. The Open Championship was a huge success both on and off the links and after Shane Lowry's famous victory it promises to be a championship that lives long in the memory. Recent Irish Open venues like Portstewart (2017) and Royal County Down (2015), as well as The Open Championship, have shown the wider public just some of what Northern Ireland has to offer. There is plenty more to Northern Ireland than just great golf. A visit to the wonderful sight that is the Giant's Causeway followed by a walk across the Carrick-a-Rede rope bridge or maybe a trip to Dunluce Castle after a Game of Thrones tour.
