County Sligo Golf Club

Founded in 1894 the course was redesigned by the famous golf architect, Harry S. Colt, in 1927 and there have been continuous improvements made ever since. County Sligo is home to the West of Ireland Open amateur championship played every Easter since 1923 and this great tournament has been won by such players as Rory McIlroy (2005, 2006), Shane Lowry (2008), Padraig Harrington (1994), and Joe Carr (12 separate occasions). This course is steeped in Irish golfing heritage and is considered a must play for anyone on the Island of Ireland. It was voted the 2016 Links Course of the Year by the Irish Golf Tour Operators Association (IGTOA). In addition to always being a mainstay in the top 10 courses in Ireland, the par-4 14th and 17th holes were voted into the top 100 golf holes in Ireland by Irish Golfer magazine in 2016 it's clear to see that County Sligo Golf Club has one of the best finishes in golf.

A tremendous test for the highest quality player and great fun for the modest competitor, Rosses Point stands at the very top of the list of Irish courses.
