East Coast & Dublin
The East Coast of Ireland and Dublin boasts some of the country’s finest Links and parkland courses. In Dublin alone, you have the famous Portmarnock (Old) Golf Club, The Royal Dublin Golf Club and The Island. These three courses are all within 20 minutes drive of each other. Further South you will find the famous Pat Ruddy designed European Club where Tiger Woods holds the course record, shooting a spectacular 67. The European Club was also the venue where Padraig Harrington won two of his Irish PGA titles mere weeks before going on to win the Open at Carnoustie in 2007 and Royal Birkdale in 2008. Just North of Dublin you'll find County Louth Golf Club just outside the town of Drogheda in Co. Louth. County Louth Golf Club or Baltray as it is sometimes known hosts the annual East of Ireland Amateur Championship, one of the major amateur events on the island of Ireland. To the West of Dublin lays the famous K club host to the 2006 Ryder Cup in which the European team emerged victorious sparking the kind of celebrations that can only take place in Ireland.
