Having gone through a complete refurbishment lasting 18 months the 5-star Adare Manor Hotel & Golf Resort re-opened its doors in November 2017, with the golf course re-opening in April of 2018. The golf course before the re-design was considered one of the best parkland courses in Ireland and indeed one of the best courses in Ireland full-stop. On April 20th 2018 the new Tom Fazio designed layout was officially opened by Rory McIlroy, Padraig Harrington, Paul McGinley, and Shane Lowry in a charity fourball match.

Fazio requested the involvement of decorated golfers to give feedback on plans throughout the project, seeking the observations and expertise of both Harrington and McGinley as two of Europe’s most experienced touring professionals. The new design is a complete overhaul of the old layout with greens and tee boxes having been redesigned and built from scratch. No expense has been spared and no stone has been left unturned throughout the design and building process of the golf course and hotel. The golf course is like nothing else you will find in Ireland and is truly a one of a kind experience. The hotel, golf course and facilities at Adare Manor are second to none in the world.

Every hole gives amateur golfers a fair chance. The 18th may be an exception because while it remains the best hole on the course, it will be a tough proposition for a pro in need of a birdie four to win a tournament and no pushover either for an amateur with a par to win.

Adare Manor has always been a great fun place to stay and enjoy Irish hospitality with a beautiful setting along the River Maigue. Adare Manor will be a stand-out course in Europe. The finishing holes, 14 through 18, are perhaps the most memorable stretch with great views along the river and the manor in the backdrop. With the manor hotel refurbishment, this will be one of the finest stay-and-play venues ever created – everyone is going to want to see this place.
