Enniscrone Golf Club

Founded in 1918 and designed by Eddie Hackett Enniscrone Golf Club in Co. Sligo was originally like many courses a 9-hole layout. It now boasts 27-holes and the championship 18, known as The Dunes, was carved out of Eddie Hackett's original design with six new holes added in the seaside dunes by renowned architect Donald Steel. The result is that Enniscrone has one of the finest links courses in Ireland. The course has that old school links outward and inward 9's which is synonymous with the Old Course in St. Andrews. Twelve of the Dunes 18-holes are played through the dunes which give a great sense of tranquillity unlike any other. The towering dunes in Enniscrone really do frame the holes beautifully and it is a golf course truly deserving of its place in the top 15 golf courses in Ireland.

A pleasing feature is the variety. As well as holes in the open flatland there will be those ranging through the sand dunes with the occasional dog-leg adding to the attraction.
